About This Game
What PSYCHO did for showers…
What JAWS did for the ocean…
You’ll never look at a toilet the same way again!
Try your luck. Accomplish your mission. Get out alive— if you dare.
The spiders that kill you and the resources you need to survive are reshuffled each time you start a new mission. Plan accordingly.

TOILET SPIDERS is a short, replayable lo-fi first-person survival horror game where you must learn to judge your odds and manage your resources to avoid or scare off the giant radioactive spiders laying in wait inside filthy toilets that contain the keys and items you need to complete your mission and escape with your life.
You are a "Volunteer" sent by faceless government functionaries on a mission that at the outset may not be clear even to you.
Explore a mysterious abandoned facility situated within an Exclusion Zone where no one, wisely, has set foot for years. Uncover the history of the place and your role as a reluctant interloper.
To accomplish your mission, you must open toilet after wretched toilet, some containing nothing, some containing the key you're looking for, and some containing a giant, hostile spider that will kill you immediately.
Each time you fail your mission and enter the Exclusion Zone anew, spiders and items are reshuffled, meaning you must scrounge thoroughly, manage your resources, and continually calculate the odds. No winning through memorization.
Scavenged items like old light bulbs, surplus flash grenades, and lucky coins will aid you on your mission, but their numbers are precious few. You must learn how best to weigh your odds and make your own luck if you want to live.
Your overlords haven't deigned to send you in with a gun, and you won't find any on site. These spiders would shrug off bullets anyway, you must survive by other means.
Go from failing to clear even the first floor to trying for deathless runs and other challenge Achievements as you master the ins and outs of TOILET SPIDERS.
Feeling unlucky this run? Restart your run anytime from the main menu. Optimizers, go!
NEW FOR 1.0:
A new narrated intro, and a post-credits ending sequence when you successfully escape;
New randomized spooky moments as you explore;
Updated interface, usability and quality-of-life features, including enhanced controller functionality;
And a full-fledged COMMENTARY MODE, featuring insight about the making of TOILET SPIDERS, how the game works under the hood, and other tidbits about the game and its inspirations.
Toilet Spiders is the first entry in an ongoing anthology series of short, strange, lo-fi games: FULLBRIGHT PRESENTS. In Toilet Spiders, you will die— but eventually you will learn to turn the odds in your favor and become a hero of the people.
Good luck.
Note: this game includes an effect that turns the screen white and causes an ear-ringing sound. There is an option in the Options menu to reduce the flash effect and remove the tinnitus ringing sound! But those who are sensitive to sudden bright lights and tinnitus sound effects, please be advised.
